For clients who do have a longstanding or heavy drinking habit, I may advise you to see your own doctor and/ or attend the local alcohol service, for medical care, such as alcohol detox or medications that can help you, alongside our work together, if I feel that is necessary for your best and safe medical care. This will be, of course, up to you. My service is, however, confidential, I do not contact any third parties, including your own GP, without your consent unless I am required to do so by law.
